Choose to Stay with Arsenal, Aubameyang Reveals the Reason

By db-admin

DBasia.news – It was rumored that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future with Arsenal would end until the Gabon striker finally agreed to extend his contract.

No doubt Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta felt relief after successfully extending Aubameyang’s contract. Arteta honestly admitted that he was worried about losing his flagship striker.

Arsenal had been in a difficult situation regarding Aubameyang’s status. The remaining one-year contract leaves the Gunners in a dilemma between selling him this summer or keeping him and risking losing him for free next year.

Arsenal’s efforts to extend Aubameyang’s contract also did not go smoothly. The forward is reportedly unsure about the prospect of the North London team competing for the title.

“Initially, when I joined, I was not as positive as a few weeks ago. Obviously, financially, we are in a position where it is difficult to get what we want, and I think Auba had doubts at that point,” Arteta said on the club’s official website.

Arteta’s relief is very natural, especially since it was recently discovered that many big clubs were ready to hijack Aubameyang. One of the clubs that was recently known to be actively pursuing him was Barcelona.

Reported by Marca, Aubameyang revealed that Barcelona had made an offer to him. “There are several offers. Especially from Barcelona. But there are also from other clubs,” said Aubameyang.

Then, why did Aubameyang finally decide to stay with the Gunners? Aubameyang revealed two reasons.

“The first, Mikel Arteta. We talked at length during the lockdown. We had a lot to say and he convinced me with his project,” Aubameyang elaborated.

“He said I could go and win titles with another club or stay and leave a legacy at Arsenal.”

“The second reason. I chose to stay because of the love given by the fans. That’s the reason I chose to stay,” said Aubameyang.
