DBasia.news – A record has just been set by Cristiano Ronaldo. The Juventus striker has just became the first footballer with total revenue of US $1 billion.

Ronaldo became the third athlete whose total income touched 1 billion dollars. Two other names on the list are Tiger Woods and Floyd Mayweather.

If calculated based on the income of the past year alone, Ronaldo ranked second in the list of the richest athletes. He only lost to Roger Federer who collected a profit of 106 million dollars.

Ronaldo’s total income came from two main sources which are his salary as a footballer and business profits off the field. The percentage of those income source reaches 65 and 35 percent.

The 35-year-old player has earned around 650 million from his salary as a Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus player. While the remaining 350 million dollars came from businesses, sponsors, and others.

Ronaldo does have many businesses built under the trademark CR7. He also received sponsorship from world renowned brands such as Nike and Herbalife.

Ronaldo’s other income from outside the field comes from endorsements on Instagram social media. From that alone, the benefits he can reach reaches 52.7 million US dollars per year.
