DBasia.news – David Beckham, Harry Kane and Harry Maguire became part of FIFA’s campaign to show appreciation for health workers and other professionals around the world who are at the forefront of fighting the corona virus.
Quoted from the Sky Sport page on Sunday, in an idea called #WeWillWin, FIFA has gathered 50 of the greatest football players in the past and present to commend the efforts of those who have risked their lives in the face of the pandemic.
Former England captain Beckham stated: “As footballers, we are accustomed to receiving applause. But this time, we got the chance to show our appreciation for the many who risked their lives to protect our lives.
“You are a hero of humanity and we want to show that all of football supports you and everything you do to protect us all,”
Pele, Diego Maradona, Michael Owen, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo also supported FIFA’s move.
Carli Lloyd, captain of the US women’s team, added: “Realizing the risks that doctors, nurses and other important workers must face every day, football wants to show its support.
“They are at the forefront in fighting the corona virus, working as a team to shade us, to protect us and keep us healthy. “Thanks to their dedication and professionalism, which is supported by the absolute commitment of everyone to follow the rules of each national health authority, so we will win.”
