Demands for high salary, Barcelona is not pursuing David Alaba

DBasia.news – Barcelona reportedly gave up on obtaining the services of Bayern Munich defender, David Alaba. The reason is, the Spanish club does not want to pay the player’s large salary.
Alaba is in the final year of his contract with Die Roten. Conversations regarding a contract extension between the two parties, the club and also the player’s agent reportedly failed to reach an agreement.
Practically, Alaba can freely leave from the Allianz Stadium, Munich at the end of the 2020-2021 season with several top European clubs such as Liverpool, Juventus, Real Madrid, and Barcelona interested in obtaining his signature.
Now reported by Sportsmole, Tuesday (3/11), Barca will withdraw from the pursuit of Alaba. The club who is experiencing difficult times due to the effects of the corona virus pandemic, is considered not in an ideal position to meet player salary demands.
The reason is, the Swiss footballer has asked for a fee of eight million euros per year. Things that are considered challenging with Barca’s current economic situation.
Alaba has been FC Bayern’s mainstay player in recent seasons. He managed to help Bayern Munich win the sixth Champions League title in the 2019-2020 season.
