By db-admin
DBasia.news – Atletico Madrid confirmed Diego Costa has a back injury. This problem makes the 31-year-old attacker is expected to be absent for three months.
2019-20 season does not seem to give luck to Diego Costa. Yes, so far this season, he has only scored two goals for Atletico Madrid. In fact, he also could not perform regularly because he could not compete with Alvaro Morata and Angel Correa.
Now, the problem is getting worse because of injury. Atletico’s official website, states that Costa has experienced back problems in the last few days. After undergoing a medical examination, he was diagnosed with a problem in the spine (cervical disc herniation).
This situation makes Costa most likely to undergo surgery. If true, he is expected to miss playing at least three months or until February.
Atletico is the only team to have lost once this season so far. However, they also can not be consistent in reaping the victory.
However, the inconsistency that also experienced by Barcelona and Real Madrid makes Atletico still competing in the top position. Currently, Diego Simeone’s men are third in the La Liga standings with 24 points. They are only one point adrift of the two main competitors.
