England Coach Suggests City not to Lend Phil Foden
DBasia.news – England coach, Gareth Southgate, suggested Manchester City not to lend Phil Foden.
Phil Foden began accepting opportunities in the Manchester City’s main team from the 2018-2019 season. Foden often entered the Citizens rotation list throughout the season.
Phil Foden is starting to lose his place in Manchester City’s main squad. Throughout this season, Foden only collected 102 minutes at various events with The Citizens.
Many say Phil Foden should be loaned out by Manchester City. However, Gareth Southgate has strongly disagreed with these assumptions.
“Phil Foden is still physically developing and I know Pep Guardiola knows his quality. However, that is the quality of the players around him,” Gareth Southgate stated.
“I’m sure, as time goes by, Phil Foden will receive playing minutes. Likewise in his performance. In my opinion, you have to wait until half or the end of the season.”
“In my opinion, Manchester City should not lend Phil Foden. That is because he will go through a challenging time with his playing style, how to practice, and everything else,” added the coach.
