Everton Are Potentially Recruiting Diogo Dalot

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Everton are potentially recruiting a Manchester United defender who has rarely played this season after being injured.

Everton could provide a solution for Diogo Dalot who are looking to be dismissed by Manchester United, with manager Carlo Ancelotti making him a target for his transfer to Goodison Park this summer.

The Mirror’s report stated that Portugal’s Diego Dalot is on the list of players who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sell to fund transfers as well as to make room for new arrivals.

Previously, the Catalonia giant Barcelona had reportedly been interested in the 21-year-old player, but now Manchester United’s Premier League rival, Everton, are the latest club to be interested in bringing the defender whose current market value is estimated not to exceed 12 million euros.

Diogo Dalot only joined Old Trafford in 2018 when manager Jose Mourinho brought him from FC Porto worth 22 million euros. Mourinho, who is now the manager of Spurs, even praised Dalot by saying that The Red Devils have a defender who could be relied on for the next 10 years.

Unfortunately Ole Gunnar Solskjaer then favored Aaron Wan-Bissaka who is more fierce and able to tackle the tidier, brought in last summer from Crystal Palace for 55 million euros, and since then Dalot has been increasingly marginalized from the main squad.

This 2019/2020 season, Diogo Dalot even appeared in only four matches in the Premier League with a total appearance of only 65 minutes.

The former FC Porto player has been given more opportunities to play in the FA Cup (four games with one goal away at Tranmere Rovers FC) and the Europa League (three games nearly the full 90 minutes in all) because his season has been plagued by problems with back and thigh muscle injuries.

Now Everton are reportedly interested in taking him out of Old Trafford with an offer worth 11 million euros. It’s just that Diogo Dalot also has no guarantee that he can immediately become a mainstay player if he moves to Merseyside.

This is because The Toffes right-back post is currently occupied by the captain and idol of the Evertonian, Seamus Coleman. Manager Carlo Ancelotti still sees the Portuguese defender as a future successor to the club captain who will turn 32 in 2020.

Additionally, his ability to play in both full-back position could make him a useful backup option for Lucas Digne on the left, with Dalot also capable of playing as a wing midfielder.
