Diogo Dalot Reveals Synthetic Grass is Not the Reason for the Counter-Alkmaar Draw Results

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Diogo Dalot, Manchester United defender gave his opinion related to the 0-0 draw when competing against AZ Alkmaar on Mathcday 2 of the Europa League L Group 2019-2020, Friday (4/10) early morning Western Indonesian Time.  He did not want to make use of synthetic grass at Kyocera Stadium as the reason behind the acquisition of the draw.

Manchester United looks difficult to compensate for the host game.  In fact, the Red Devils were unable to release a single shot on target.  Luckily, AZ Alkmaar could not score.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s squad is estimated to have difficulty playing on synthetic grass.  However, Diogo Dalot denied this.

“It’s easier for them because we are accustomed to playing on a field like this. However, we are Manchester United and must be ready to face any challenges,” Diogo Dalot told MUTV.

“We will not use synthetic grass as an excuse, but it is clearly a difficulty that must be overcome. I think we perform well enough and can carve clean sheets, that’s important,” continued the player.

Indeed, Kyocera Stadium is not the headquarters of AZ Alkmaar.  AZ Alkmaar’s cage, AFAS Stadium, is being repaired after the roof collapsed last month.

As a result, the match was held 112 kilometers from AFAS Stadium.  Kyocera Stadium is the headquarters of another Eredivisie club, ADO Den Haag.

“Yesterday, we practiced well in the field. Today we tried to do our best. I think we can do it. We create opportunities.”

“However, as I said, in the end we have to look at the positive side. We need to find out weaknesses and continue to grow,” said Dalot.

One additional point makes Manchester United ranked second in the standings with four points.  Next, Man United will visit Newcastle United in the Premier League continued match on Sunday (6/10).
