Former Everton player becomes coach of China national team
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Former Everton midfielder Li Tie was appointed as coach of the Chinese National Team in the championship for the East Asian Football Confederation Cup (EAFF E-1) in South Korea, next December.
The Chinese Football Association (CFA) is taking a better step in developing the talents of young Chinese coaches by giving them practical practice opportunities to handle teams on an international scale.
According to the CFA, the senior national team players and the Olympic team must not be included in the team made by Li on account of their participation in the qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The 42-year-old, who had helped Marcello Lippi for a long time in Guangzhou Evergrande and the Chinese senior national team, is currently still handling Wuhan Zall, who is sixth in the Chinese Super League (CSL) for the remaining three matches.
EAFF E-11 will begin on December 10, 2019, in South Korea followed by China, Japan, Hong Kong, and the home team.
