DBasia.news – Real Madrid are still looking for the right player to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. The former Madrid player, Rafael van der Vaart, assumed the club don’t need to sign Ronaldo because they are strong enough without him.
Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid during the 2018 summer transfer market. The Portuguese player went to Juventus with 105 million euro transfer fee. Apparently, Ronaldo decided to leave because Florentino Perez didn’t fulfill his promise to renew the contract with upgraded salary.
Ronaldo’s exit makes Real Madrid overwhelmed. Moreover, during the 2018 summer transfer market, El Real didn’t get the proper substitute player for Ronaldo. Consequently, Real Madrid had a difficulty to attack.
It’s rumored Real Madrid have prepared some names to replace him. Two of them are Eden Hazard and Mauro Icardi. But, Los Merengues former player Van der Vaart denied that.
“You cannot just replace a player who scores 40 to 50 goals per season, and, of course, Real miss Ronaldo. What he did at Real is totally crazy,” Van der Vaart said cited by Calciomercato.
“The quality in the squad is still there. They don’t need any winter signings. It’s always difficult to find suitable players in the winter to really help a team in this class. The team has to grow together again to compensate for the departure of Ronaldo,” he explained.
Rafael van der Vaart supported Real Madrid from 2008 to 2010. In that period, he scored 12 goals and 12 assists from 73 caps.
