German Police Worried Mass Crowd around the Stadium if Bundesliga Continues

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Bundesliga has been warned that returning to play matches even without spectators could invite health threats because supporters were feared to gather outside the stadium.

DFL considered too rushed to declare ready to hold the Bundesliga again. The German Police Union said that returning to play the match even without spectators could invite health threats because supporters were feared to gather outside the stadium.

The DFL is currently looking for ways to continue the 2019-20 season amid a corona virus pandemic. The Bundesliga competition can be rolled back in mid-May, even if it has to be played in an empty stadium.

The deputy chairman of the German Police Union Jorg Radek said authorities were wrong to believe that banning supporters from coming to the stadium was enough.

“Maybe we can control what happens inside the stadium. This does not apply to public spaces outside the arena. The stadium is a potential target for supporters who want to support their team,” Radek said as quoted by Goal.

“It will be a disaster. We cannot allow a large crowd outside the stadium gates. This is not only prohibited, but irresponsible.”

Radek said that the police would find it difficult to cope with additional duties if Germany’s top league returns in the near future.

“That will be an additional burden for us. So far, we have been able to cope with the task in this pandemic situation very well because we have not maintained many large events.”

“This is because there are no concerts, there are no demonstrations and because sports, especially football are also stopped.”

“Providing security for league matches at the weekend is a huge burden for us even without a corona pandemic,” Radek said.
