Get Easy Opponents, Manchester City Are Favored Champions League Champion

DBasia.news – Barcelona legend Rivaldo shared his opinion on the favorites to win the Champions League this season. For Rivaldo, Manchester City is the foremost team that will embrace the Big Ear trophy.

Manchester City strolled smoothly into the Champions League quarter-finals. The Premier League giants managed to get past Borussia Moenchengladbach in the last 16.

Based on the results of the draw, Man City will face Dortmund in the last eight. Josep Guardiola’s men will first act as hosts on April 6 before playing the second leg on April 14.

If they make it past the Bundesliga team, Man City will face PSG or defending champions Bayern Munich in the semifinals. The first leg of the semifinals will be played on April 27th and 28th, followed by the second leg on May 4th and 5th.

Even though the road to the final is not easy, Rivaldo is looking for Manchester City who will win the Champions League this season.

“Manchester City are the favorite team to win the Champions League,” Rivaldo said as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.

“It’s something Pep (Guardiola) has been chasing for a long time since he won it twice with Barcelona.”

“In my opinion, and seeing how they are playing now, they deserve to be the favorites at the moment.”

Rivaldo is not without reason to put Manchester City as the favorite champion. According to him, Josep Guardiola’s troops had relatively easy opponents compared to other big rivals.

“However, there are other big rivals such as Bayern Munich, PSG and Real Madrid,” he continued.

“I put them a little bit ahead because Bayern faced PSG in the quarter-finals as a repeat of last season’s final.”

“So, both teams will face tough tests soon while Manchester City can have a smoother match against Borussia Dortmund.”
