DBasia.news – Gianfranco Zola, former Chelsea striker, hopes Eden Hazard can continue his success at Chelsea with Real Madrid.
Hazard, 28, was brought in by Madrid this summer as the successor to the Los Galacticos project with Eder Militao, Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy and Rodrygo Goes. The Belgian wing attacker seized attention with his status as a European star.
“Madrid have purchased a fantastic player. This year he is very great and as a person, he is also great. Chelsea lost a key player and Madrid got it,” Zola was quoted as saying by the US.
“I wish him the best and he will perform well in Madrid like at Chelsea. That is what he deserves,” he continued.
Furthermore, Zola, who last season became the assistant manager to Maurizio Sarri, assessed his arrival to La Liga would improve his ability to play. Hazard can grow rapidly under the care of Zinedine Zidane.
“That (Hazard’s future in Madrid). His ability will not create doubt in his game. La Liga will be good for him,” added Zola.
“This season, he will learn a lot and develop, learn to play more with the team. Improve the ability to pass the ball. I think he will be fine (in Madrid).”
Finally, Zola, who in fact was a former Chelsea striker in the 1996-2003 period, also advised Hazard.
“The best advice I can give is to continue to do what he has done. The rest will come,” Zola added.
“We argue a lot about football and he always tells me that he appears better when having fun, his best ability comes when he enjoys playing. I hope he enjoys it in Madrid. If he does, the rest will occur naturally.”
