DBasia.news – Juventus won 2-0 over Sampdoria. Even though he is satisfied with the team’s performance, Giorgio Chiellini thinks Juventus should be able to finish off the opponent faster.
The Sampdoria vs Juventus match in the continued Italian League was held at the Luigi Ferrari Stadium, Sunday (31/1/2021) am, WIB. The Bianconeri left with full points after posting a 2-0 win.
Juventus opened the scoring in the 20th minute through a goal from Federico Chiesa. The visitors only added a goal in injury time after Aaron Ramsey completed a counter-attack.
“I said before the match that the important thing is to show consistency and the desire to win every game,” Chiellini told Sky Sport Italia.
“It was a tough match, a good performance from Juve, although we should have finished off the opponent sooner. I think we improved a lot this January and achieved results in most of the matches.”
The victory over Sampdoria added to the positive results achieved by Juventus throughout January. Since the turn of the year, Cristiano Ronaldo and team mates have recorded eight wins in nine matches.
The only negative result was obtained by Juventus when they lost 0-2 to Inter Milan. Next, Andrea Pirlo’s team will face Inter again in the Coppa Italia semifinals on Wednesday (3/2/2021).
“The Coppa Italia is a different tournament, a knockout stage, while Serie A is more like a bicycle race where there are many stages. We just have to keep going,” said Chiellini.
Getting full points at Sampdoria headquarters, Juventus rose to third place in the Italian League standings. They collected 39 points from 19 matches.
