Guardiola Talked about Bernardo Silva’s Tweet
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola insisted that Bernardo Silva was not guilty of racism over a City star’s tweet to his teammate Benjamin Mendy.
Anti-racism organization Kick It Out called on the governing body of English football to take action.
“To be honest, I don’t know what happened but they should focus on other issues,” Guardiola said.
“They don’t know the person they are discussing. Bernardo is one of the nicest people I have ever found in my life.”
“He speaks in four or five languages, that is the best way to understand how open-minded he is, and one of his best friends is Mendy. He is like his brother. The image of the two players is not about skin color.”
“He put up a photo of Benjamin when he was young and he linked it to this cartoon, similar indeed, to that image.”
“I think the response from Mendy was clear after the incident. It was an old joke. Maybe, what I have often said, my suggestion is not to use too much social media. That’s what happened,” Guardiola said.
