Guardiola Wants to Stay at Manchester City
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola insists he wants to stay with the club even though it is often rumored to be leaving when his contract expires in 2021.
The 48-year-old manager came to Etihad Stadium to replace Manuel Pellegrini in the summer of 2016. He then agreed to extend his contract in 2018, which means he still has 18 months left with the club.
Although the contract is still valid until 2021, Guardiola stressed that there is no need to rush to sign a new agreement.
“I think the (one and a half) year left is a long time for a manager in football,” Guardiola said.
“There is no need to rush. The contract is not completed in three or four months. The club has worked well, so this is not a problem.
Some time ago, Guardiola had stated that his biggest challenge in England was over.
“We will see how this will work and what will happen. I always say that it is wonderful to be here and of course I want to stay as long as possible,” he said.
