Having an injury, Kevin De Bruyne absent against Arsenal

DBasia.news – Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is rumored to be absent when his team travel to Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday (18/10) night. De Bruyne suffered an injury after appearing with the Belgian national team.

The 29-year-old midfielder was withdrawn in the UEFA Nations League match against England last weekend. The Belgian national team coach, Roberto Martinez, said he deliberately replaced De Bruyne to prevent further injury.

“I’m not sure (the injury) is serious. But I’m sure he will miss the next match,” said Pep Guardiola as quoted by BBC Sport, Saturday (17/10).

De Bruyne has been in Manchester since last Wednesday for intensive treatment by the club. City are now increasingly having trouble finding options if De Bruyne cannot appear. Because, The Citizens only won four points from three Premiere League matches this season.

Guardiola does not want to blame international matches for player injuries. He is aware that defending the country is very important for every footballer.

“I have never protested the international break. I understand this is important and proud for the player. But I also want the player to return in a fit condition even though I can’t control it,” concluded the former Barcelona manager.

Apart from De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus has also not been able to be assigned by Guardiola. Like it or not, City must rely on the role of veteran striker Sergio Aguero for the closest match. In addition, the option of two players from Portugal, Joao Cancelo and Bernardo Silva, can also be an alternative choice for Guardiola to pick points.
