Cristiano Ronaldo is 33 years old when decided to join Juventus. Meanwhile, the transfer fee wasn’t cheap.

Juventus gave 100 million euro (Rp1,7 trillion) to recruit Cristiano Ronaldo. The number made Ronaldo as the most expensive above 30-year-old player.

Came with the high transfer fee, Cristiano Ronaldo became the highlight in Juventus. All of his movements are watched by the media all over the world.

Many believed Juventus wasn’t only signing a player while recruiting Cristiano Ronaldo. I Bianconeri also bought the walking advertisement board.

In the past, there was a myth that the expensive player will pay off their fee by the club jersey sales. But, the myth might change considering Ronaldo’s effect to Juventus.

No wonder, reported by Tuttosport, Juventus have sold more jersey within two recent months compared to the whole 2017-2018 season. It’s undeniable that it’s the effect of Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival.

In August 2018, the sales of Juventus jersey in Europe surpassed 145 percent or twice higher compared to the previous year.

The condition made Juventus’ official website and some jersey stores were running out of stock. It means, I Bianconeri supporters have to wait until October to purchase the jersey.

No wonder, Juventus’ jersey sales are influenced by Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival. Apparently, examining further, the jersey sales enhancement related closely to the Portugal national team captain.

Understood, there has been a long time since a big name came to Allianz Stadium in recent seasons. Miralem Pjanic and Gonzalo Higuain who came two seasons ago don’t have the fame as big as Cristiano Ronaldo.

Moreover, Cristiano Ronaldo is known as one of the world’s best players. With Lionel Messi, the Portugal national team captain dominated the award of best player in the recent decade.

However, not every revenue of Cristiano Ronaldo jersey sales collected by Juventus. Besides in the club’s official website, the money will be the profit for Adidas.

Juventus aren’t benefited in this term. Apparently, I Bianconeri only get 20 million euro (Rp347 billion) from Adidas for each season.

The number is way too small compared to other teams sponsored by Adidas like Bayern Munchen, Manchester United, or Real Madrid.

However, Juventus make the Cristiano Ronaldo’s jersey sales success to get more profit from Adidas.

Their contracts are still available until 2022. Consequently, it’s a relatively small possibility that Adidas will add the partnership value with Juventus.
