DBasia.news –  Lecce revived from being left behind with two goals and finally managed to achieve a 2-2 draw against Genoa, in the Italian League match at the Via Del Mare Stadium, Lecce, Sunday, AM.

One extra point brings Lecce up to 15th in the standings, with 15 points. While Genoa still inhabits the red zone and is ranked 18th with 11 points, as reported by the official website of the Italian League.

Lecce defender, Marco Calderoni, was able to thwart Goran Pandev’s effort to pack a goal in the first minute, when Genoa locked up Lecce. The only threat that Lecce can present is through Khouma Babacar’s header that went straight to Ionut Radu’s goal.

Genoa was able to break the deadlock in the 31st minute. Lecce goalkeeper, Gabriel, ran to leave the net to sweep the ball away from Andrea Pinamonti’s threat on the edge of the box, but his shot did not bounce too far.

Pandev then relied on his instinct to control the ball and kick it into an empty goal from a distance of 39.7 meters. Goalkeeper, Gabriel, tried to reach the ball, however, his efforts were in vain.

Towards the end of the first half, Genoa completed Lecce’s suffering with their second goal. Fabio Lucioni violated Pandev in the forbidden box, which made the referee point to the spot. Domenico Criscito who served as the executioner successfully converted a penalty by firing it into the upper right corner of the goal.

Lecce coach, Fabio Liverani, made three substitutions at the start of the second half, and his efforts achieved great results.

Diego Farias and Filippo Falco worked together to force a corner kick situation. The ball was then directed shortly, and Falco released a curled left-footed shot into the top right corner of Genoa’s goal from a narrow angle, without being held by Radu. The 1-2 score for Genoa’s lead.

Genoa had to play with ten players after Kevin Agudelo received a second yellow card in the 69th minute. A minute later, Lecce was able to equalize through Andrea Tabanelli’s header to welcome Falco’s cross.

The visitors had to continue to lose players on the field as Goran Pandev received his second yellow card in the 77th minute. The Genoa goalkeeper then became the target of bombardment from Lcce’s side, but until the game ended there were no additional goals created.
