DBasia.news – Inter Milan officially sign left back, Aleksander Kolarov from AS Roma. Reportedly the Serbian defender was signed by the Nerazzurri for two years.

Inter confirmed the 34-year-old’s arrival in a poetic statement on their official website. Inter told the story of Kolarov becoming a professional footballer after growing up in war-torn Serbia.

“You are never used to fighting. But the sirens. Or at least, so did Aleksandar Kolarov and his friends,” wrote the statement as quoted by Goal on Wednesday (09/9).

“The schools are closed. So spending time playing football, on the street, waiting for that sound (siren). Passion and obsession, in a positive sense.”

“From the Red Star youth team to Inter, passing Cukaricki Stankom, OFK Beograd, Lazio, Manchester City, Rome.”

“He is just Kolarov, a football lover, aware of his own abilities and with a desire, even at 34 years of age, to add a new chapter to a story, which has made him captain of the Serbian national team, of which he is very proud.”

“This is Aleksandar Kolarov, not just free kicks, which everyone is very familiar with. A new Interista,” concluded the statement.

Kolarov has made more than 132 appearances for Roma in all competitions, having moved to the Stadio Olimpico from Manchester City in 2017. He will now join former Chelsea coach, Antonio Conte at Inter, who guided the club to their highest Serie A finish in nine years.

The Nerazzurri were only one point behind defending champions, Juventus last season and also made it to the Europa League final before being defeated 3-2 by Sevilla.

Kolarov will now compete with former Manchester United defender, Ashley Young for a regular spot at left-back in Conte’s starting line-up.

Inter will kick off their new Serie A season at home against Fiorentina on September 26. Inter will then travel to Benevento four days later, before starting in October with a heavyweight clash against Lazio.
