Iran Won’t Bring the 2018 World Cup Alumni to 2018 Asian Games

DBasia.news – Iran national team has announced the list of 27 players will join the 2018 Asian Games. From the list, there is no senior player who played for Tim Melli during the 2018 World Cup.

The 2018 Asian Games will only play the U-23 teams. But, every team may bring along three senior players with the wild card.

But Iran has different step to South Korea who brought along two 2018 World Cup players, Son Heung-min, Kim Hak-Bum, and Hwang Ujio, all playing for Gamba Osaka. After the 2018 World Cup, Son Heung-Min said his eagerness to play for the Asian Games.

But the release of Iran squad is not final. Tim Melli will cross out some players after the friendly match to Iraq and China from July 25 to August 9, 2018. The first match of the 2018 Asian Games football will be held on August 14 to September 1, 2018.

Iran is one tough player in Asia. Besides South Korea, Tim Melli is also the candidate to get the gold.

During the Asian Games, Iran got the gold medals four times, in 1974, 1990, 1998, and 2002. Also, they finished in the third position in 2006, and the fourth during the 2010 Asian Games. During the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta, Iran will be in Group F along with South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Myanmar.
