It Needs 10 Players in the Penalty Box to complicate the Movement of Manchester City
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester City managed to overthrow Liverpool 4-0 in an away match to Southampton headquarters on Monday (6/7) WIB. After the match City turned out to be defeated by a single goal of Che Adams 0-1.
Throughout the match Pep Guardiola’s troops dominated the game. Match statistics showed that Guardiola’s players controled more than 73 percent possession and released no fewer than 26 attempted shots.
“Against them you must be prepared to run often, fight fiercely, but when you get the ball you must dare to take the opportunity to create problems for them,” Southampton manager, Ralph Hasenhuettl told the club’s official website.
“Everything is possible when you are committed and patiently waiting for the right moment,” he added.
Seeing his troops fall despite firing many shots, City boss, Pep Guardiola claimed to have had difficulty serving the opponent’s game. Guardiola said it was challenging to beat a team whose ten players inhabited the penalty box area alone for most of the game.
“We played well by showing character and willingness to win until the end,” Guardiola stated on Man City’s official website.
“With 10 Southampton players in their own penalty area, it is challenging. This match is like a scenario that often happens this season, one mistake and the opponent punished us,” Guardiola added
“Afterwards, we created a lot of opportunities, but like I said they have 10 players standing up to the ball,” he concluded.
