Italian Legendary Coach Quits Handling China National Team in 2019

DBasia.news – Marcelo Lippi won’t coach China national team in 2019 after the Asian Cup. However, Lippi isn’t retiring and will stay to coach the national team.
Marcelo Lippi is one of world legendary coaches. The coach achieved the prestigious trophies.
During his period handling Juventus, Marcelo Lippi won the Scudetto and Champions League. Meanwhile, Lippi also won the 2006 World Cup with Italy national team.
Moved to Asia, Marcelo Lippi was coaching Chinese club, Guangzhou Evergrande. The 70-year-old coach won the Asian Champions League with Guangzhou.
The achievements brought him to be China national team coach since 2016. However, Marcelo Lippi will leave that position after the 2019 Asian Cup.
“I’ve done six years, it’s a wonderful experience which will end on January 31 after the Asian Cup. I’m flying out tomorrow,” Lippi told Corriere dello Sport.
“The Federation offered me another four-and-a-half year to close in Qatar, but I didn’t feel like accepting it.”
“I’ve stopped with clubs forever, but a closer national team, in Europe or the Emirates, I could consider…” he continued.
Marcelo Lippi is really respected in Europe. No wonder, Lippi once handled Europe top clubs like Juventus and Inter Milan before becoming Italy national team coach.
