Joao Felix is believed to be brilliant under the direction of Diego Simeone

DBasia.news – Former Portugal national team player, Nuno Gomes believes that Atletico Madrid’s young striker, Joao Felix will develop under Diego Simeone.
Felix came to Atletico from Benfica at a ransom of € 120 million (£ 107 million / $ 135 million) last summer, but instead struggled to meet the expectations of his high price tag in his first season with the LaLiga club.
The 20-year-old player has only scored six goals and contributed three assists in his 28 appearances for Atletico, but his season has often been hampered by injuries.
Gomes believes his colleague will learn a lot from Simeone, while comparing his talents with Manchester City star, Bernardo.
“First of all, Joao Felix, is also a player that I really admire and I compare him with Bernardo Silva. “They have similarities in terms of natural talent,” he told Stats Perform News.
“Everything looks easy for them. Regarding his season at Atletico Madrid, I remember that he started well, he started the season very, very well. In the preseason he scored a lot of goals and then he suffered a small injury that made him be pulled over for several weeks.”
“I believe this experience, this first year allows him to grow in terms of playing style because with the ball, he is a talented player, he always wants to head to the goal, he always has an eye on the goal, the way he receives the ball when he looks ahead is what he learned while being coached by a someone like Simeone, I think it was good for him.”
“Simeone will give him some things that he never felt because he often plays offensively and now he must also learn how to survive better, how to be part of the team because he grew up in an environment that was very easy for him,”
“When you have a difficult situation in front of you, you have to work harder to overcome those difficulties so I believe he will thrive with Simeone,” he concluded.
Atletico will continue their LaLiga competition by visiting Athletic Bilbao headquarters on Sunday (6/14), while Felix must be absent due to suspension.
