John Barnes Responded to Issue of Harry Kane Wants to Leave

By db-admin

DBasia.news –  Harry Kane had threatened to leave Tottenham Hotspur. The words of the English striker were considered quite sad.

Kane was quite sharp with Tottenham, who have scored 181 goals in 278 matches. However, there hasn’t been a single trophy yet.

His best record only helped Tottenham become runner-up for the 2018/2019 Champions League. With minimal achievements, Kane was able to open a discourse to leave. So far, Manchester United and Real Madrid have been the two teams that have been linked with him.

Kane’s comments were considered pathetic. The 26-year-old striker was advised to remain loyal with The Lilywhites, until he could win the trophy.

“It’s kind of sad when the players say it. I remember Wayne Rooney said it too about Man United, and he got a new contract. It’s a modern phenomenon,” former Liverpool player John Barnes told BonusCodeBets, as reported by Express.

“Rooney was the first player to talk about the club’s ambitions that match his ambitions, and Fergie [Sir Alex Ferguson] was not very happy, but he had to give him a new contract.”

“But fans accept that now, which I don’t like. Fans have to understand that your club is the most important thing, and for players who are not committed, they shouldn’t be at the club,” he explained.

Furthermore, Barnes suggested that Kane stay at Liverpool. The player is asked to be more responsible for the achievements of his club.

“What he has to say is’ I will be a defender at Tottenham and help them win many things,” Barnes said.

“As Bill Shankly [former Liverpool manager] said, ‘If you can’t play for us when we lose, don’t play for us when we win. And if you are a player, you are part of the reason you don’t win,” he said.
