Jordi Alba Supported Barcelona to Sign Alvaro Morata

DBasia.news – The issue of Alvaro Morata’s arrival at FC Barcelona is trending. The compatriot and Barcelona left-back, Jordi Alba, supports his team to sign the Chelsea striker.

Alvaro Morata is still struggling to reveal his best performance in Chelsea. Since last season, the 26-year-old player faced a difficulty to conduct his duty as a striker, scoring the goal.

Maurizio Sarri’s role as the manager didn’t give a significant impact. Morata didn’t play well and failed to keep the consistency. Moreover, Sarri often chooses Eden Hazard as the main striker due to Morata’s disappointing performance.

No wonder, Morata is rumored looking for a new club in January 2019 transfer market. One of the choices is Barcelona. El Barca predict Morata could be the next Luis Suarez who is above 30.

“Morata is a player that I appreciate a lot, he has been a top player for many years,” Alba said cited by FourFourTwo.

One of the advantages for Barcelona if they could sign Morata is the adaptation process. Morata knows well the Spanish football because he played for Real Madrid once.

“At the end, it’s the club’s (decision) if they want to sign him or not, as with any other player. If the rumors are true, he would be very welcome, as all the new players (are),” Alba explained.

In 2018-2019, Alvaro Morata just scored 7 goals in 21 matches of all competitions. Meanwhile, last season, the striker just scored 15 goals in 48 matches.
