DBasia.news – RB Leipzig failed to qualify for the Champions League final after being defeated by Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinals. The coach, Julian Nagelsmann, commented on the failure.
The top four round of the Champions League brings together Leipzig vs PSG at Estadio da Luz, Portugal, Wednesday (19/8/2020) AM. The two teams both appeared to attack since the referee began the match.
PSG managed to break the deadlock in the 13th minute. Marquinhos was able to head Angel Di Maria’s free kick into a goal, while changing the score to 1-0 for Les Parisiens.
RB Leipzig tried to equalize after Marquinhos’ goal. Instead of scoring goals, Die Bullen Roten conceded again in the 42nd minute through Di Maria’s kick.
Leipzig’s chance to be able to step into the Champions League final disappeared after Juan Benat managed to beat goalkeeper, Peter Gulacsi, making the score 3-0 for PSG. This position did not change until the end of the match which made Neymar and his colleagues entitled to one ticket to the top round.
Julian Nagelsmann as Leipzig coach spoke up after his team’s match against PSG. Les Parisiens admitted that they deserved to advance to the Champions League final.
“I think in the end the final ticket for PSG was well deserved. During the first 10 or 12 minutes, we did well,” said Nagelsmann, as quoted by Omnisport.
“Then we were faced with a free kick and there was a goal. After that we took five minutes to get back into play, there was no problem with that, and then we conceded the second goal,” he added.
“Furthermore it was challenging to return to the game because PSG had great quality. They were a better team, you have to accept it. It is difficult, but football is like this,” said Julian Nagelsmann regarding RB Leipzig’s failure to qualify for the Champions League final.
