By db-admin
DBasia.news – Juventus reportedly wants to recruit Edin Dzeko from AS Roma. In order to accelerate this effort, Juventus is ready to release Sami Khedira as part of the transaction.
Juventus wants to bring Dzeko to the Allianz Stadium to increase the power of the attack that has been strengthened by Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. Moreover, Juventus will lose Gonzalo Higuain, who is certain to be released this summer.
However, Juventus has faced obstacles regarding the player’s price. Roma are reportedly asking for 20 million euros for the Bosnia & Herzegovina international striker.
According to Corriere dello Sport’s report as reported by Football Italia, Khedira’s name has emerged in a potential player swap this summer. Juventus is ready to enter the name of the German midfielder in order to receive a discount from Roma for Dzeko.
Khedira was indeed inserted in Juventus’ overhaul in the transfer market this summer. Reports that had surfaced states that the Bianconeri were trying to terminate Khedira’s contract sooner.
Khedira is still under contract with Juventus until 2021. Although he will be dismissed, the 33-year-old midfielder reportedly still wants to stay in Turin for one more season.
Khedira himself has been injuried throughout the 2019/2020 season. Overall, he has played only 18 times in all competitions with the Old Lady.
On the other hand, Dzeko is still a mainstay on Roma’s front lines. The former Manchester City striker is Roma’s top scorer in Serie A with 16 goals from 35 appearances.
