DBasia.news – Mateo Kovacic exit from Real Madrid heated up the summer transfer market. In the remaining time of transfer market ended this August, El Real confirmed to join with the search of a central midfielder.
“Mateo has said he wants to leave, I’ve said he is an important player. There’s nothing 100 percent certain. Obviously, if Mateo does leave, we’d look for players of his level. We need to have a balanced team, and he’s an important player. If he wants to leave, we’ll look to find solutions,” Madrid coach, Julen Lopetegui said before Kovacic moved to Chelsea.
Thiago Alcantara and Miralem Pjanic are two strong candidates to replace Kovacic. Both Thiago and Pjanic have profile and quality to replace Kovacic, though the fact, Kovacic wasn’t the regular midfielder playing for Madrid’s main squad during three past years.
Madrid proposed the effort to recruit Pjanic. Confirmed by AS (14/8), Los Blancos offered 60 million euro offer to Juventus. However, Bianconeri refused the offer who set the price tag in 80 million euro.

Juventus aren’t in the position to sell their best player. It means, Madrid have to upgrade their offer to get Juventus board of directors’ heart, who assumed ready to give a new contract for Pjanic until 2021 and so on.
Pjanic, 29, has a different playing style compared to Kovacic. If Kovacic often runs while dribbling the ball across the defense, Pjanic does it elegantly by his talent to manage the attack. He has good playing mission with the accurate passings, also great in executing dead ball.
His complete talent made Madrid interested on the former Olympique Lyonnais former midfielder. Pjanic might be placed in many central positions, also becomes the right successor for Luka Modric who is now 32 and approached by Inter Milan.
