Karim Benzema Feels More Responsible This Season

From four LaLiga matches, he scored four goals. It means statistically, he scored one goal for every 90 minutes. During his interview with Codere, Benzema emphasized that he has a bigger responsibility for the team after Ronaldo exit.

“Every game I set myself the target of scoring goals, providing assists and helping the team to win,” Benzema told Codere, as cited by El Mundo Deportivo.

“I have more responsibility every year, this year I’m the third captain and I have to show many things that maybe were not as prominent before,” the 30-year-old player continued.

Thanks to his top-scoring performance this season, Benzema sit in the 7th rank of Madrid top-scorer of all time. Now, he just has 11 goals difference with the Mexican legend, Hugo Sanchez in the 6th place.

“I am very happy to be the seventh highest scorer in the history of the club, it gives me confidence and desire to do more for this club,” Benzema uttered.

“Talent is very important but more-so it is important to work hard, you can do many things with talent but you have to work hard to be at the highest level,” he continued.

During this opportunity, he also insisted that the team have the motivation to be the winner of the Champions League of the season. But he believed Madrid’s struggle will be harder than before. He thinks there will be no easy match in this competition.
