Klopp Still Serious Although Atletico Madrid In Poor Condition

DBasia.news –  Liverpool is certainly favored because Atletico Madrid is not in good form this season.  Juergen Klopp is not affected by that and will remain serious in dealing with Los Colchoneros.

 Atletico and Liverpool meet in the last 16 of the Champions League.  The first leg will be held first at Wanda Metropolitano, Wednesday (02/19/2020) early morning Western Indonesian Time later.

 Seeing the latest performance of the two teams, it is clear Liverpool are favorites to win three points.  Liverpool only lost once this season to Napoli in the group phase last September.

 In the Premier League, Liverpool is speeding and topping the standings with a 25-point advantage over Manchester City in second place.  Liverpool’s performance was almost perfect from goalkeeper to the striker.

 While Atletico is actually almost the opposite 180 degrees.  Atletico is currently in a transition phase after being left by Antoine Griezmann, Diego Godin, and Lucas Hernandez who are the pillars of the team so far.

 Atletico appeared less impressive because they only made 25 goals in LaLiga and scattered in fourth place standings, far enough behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.  New players like Joao Felix have not been tuned in and even injured.

 Atletico also struggled in the group phase before qualifying for the last Matchday.  This makes Atletico in the spotlight, especially Diego Simeone’s position as coach.  This condition is actually beneficial for Liverpool.

 However, Klopp as manager of the Reds did not want to be swayed by the facts.  For him, Atletico is still a dangerous opponent for Liverpool.

 “As a footballer, one of the hardest things is dealing with Atletico,” Klopp said on Sportskeeda.

 “They are very organized, their orientation is the final result, they can almost achieve okay results in every game,” he continued,

 “Yes, people say they have performed poorly this season, but it is a transitional period – it is natural. They are still trying hard with the squad. You will not get much chance against them. It is very difficult.”

 “Their performance this season is not as bad as people say and certainly will not affect the game later. The team that plays better in the game and also the second leg, the harder the effort, the more fight, will qualify.  “
