Klopp Will Monitor Aston Villa Because of Gerrard

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Jurgen Klopp welcomes Steven Gerrard’s return to the Premier League as Aston Villa manager. Klopp will monitor Villa matches more closely.

Steven Gerrard leaves Rangers after accepting Aston Villa’s proposal to replace Dean Smith. The former Liverpool captain has a 3.5-year contract.

Gerrard is expected to lift the performance of Aston Villa. They are now slumped in 16th place in the Premier League standings after just three wins, one draw and seven defeats in 11 matches.

Jurgen Klopp is delighted with the appointment of Steven Gerrard as Aston Villa manager. The Liverpool manager will pay more attention to Villa matches.

“Honestly I’m very happy for him. I know he loves his job at Rangers, but that’s the way it is. When you have the opportunity to work in the Premier League then maybe every coach in the world will consider it,” Klopp told the club’s official website.

“With a club like Aston Villa, I can imagine he’s really excited. It’s a great opportunity for him, great for the club.”

“From now on I will watch Aston Villa games more closely, but apart from that when we meet they will obviously be different. But that’s good.”

“For him it’s the same. For 95 minutes all sentiments have to be put aside. But, anyway, this is good news,” said Klopp.

Steven Gerrard will return to Anfield when Aston Villa travel to Liverpool on December 11 in the Premier League.
