Korean Fans Give Lawsuit Regarding Cristiano Ronaldo

DBasia.news – A lawsuit filed by football fans in South Korea. It was addressed to one of the organizers of the match did not keep the promise about Cristiano Ronaldo.  

The lawsuit case involving Ronaldo came after the Portuguese footballer was not played by his club, Juventus, in a friendly match last July. 

Initially, Fasta as the organizer of the friendly match between Juventus versus the K-League all-star promised that Ronaldo would appear for at least 45 minutes. It also appears in their promotional means, aka advertised.

However, in the end, Ronaldo did not appear. That’s what then makes supporters dissatisfied. A lawsuit was filed to hold the promises of the organizers accountable.

As quoted by the BBC, the court ordered Fasta to pay 371 thousand won (around Rp 4.2 million) to two supporters. The amount includes 300 thousand won (about Rp. 3.4 million) the cost of losses due to “psychological suffering” supporters due to Ronaldo not playing.

“Fasta has misled and used supporters of Cristiano Ronaldo for their benefit,” said lawyer Kim Min-ki, who filed the lawsuit.

“For Ronaldo fans, this is equivalent to losing a player they have admired and supported all their lives,” he added.

Kim also told Reuters that he also represented 87 plaintiffs in other lawsuits related to the end of the 3-3 match.

Further stated, the match ticket for Juventus vs. the K-League all-star was selling well in less than three minutes. The promotion of the game is also much focused on the figure of Ronaldo.

Korean supporters in the match were annoyed when Ronaldo did not seem to be playing. They even shouted the name Lionel Messi, who used to be a rival for Ronaldo.

Related to the BBC also stated that, “K League, South Korea’s professional soccer authority, has also sent a letter of protest to Juventus for breach of contract.”
