DBasia.news –  RB Leizig won the top of the German league standings after beating Fortuna Duesseldorf with a 3-0 win in a match played at the Merkur Spiel-Arena, Duesseldorf.

An additional three points pushed Leipzig to the top of the table to get rid of Borussia Moenchengladbach who will only play on Sunday night. Leipzig has now collected 33 points.

As for Duesseldorf, this defeat has made them still inhabit the red zone. Duesseldorf is ranked 16th with 12 points.

The game ran for two minutes when Patrik Schick opened the scoring. Schick unleashed a volley kick to finish the move that started from goalkeeper, Peter Gulacsi, and involved quick and smart touches from Timo Werner and Konrad Laimer.

Center-back, Dayot Upamecano, failed to take advantage of the two chances from a close range to add to the advantage of his team, and Julian Nagelsmann’s players were almost conceded before halftime when Dawid Kownacki’s shot was failed to be anticipated by goalkeeper, Gulacsi, and was still not on target.

Entering the 58th minute, Duesseldorf left back, Kaan Ayhan’s hand had touched the ball in the forbidden box. Werner, who acted as the executor, was able to conquer Steffen to double Leipzig’s superiority.

Coach Nagelsmann then entered Nordi Mukiele to replace Luke Klostermann, and one of Mukiele’s early touches was a header to record his second goal of the season which changed the score to 3-0 for the visitors’ advantage in the 75th minute.
