Ligue 1 Results: Reims Bend Rennes, Lille Draw Counter Nimes

DBasia.news – Rennes was defeated by Reims at home. Meanwhile, Lille, who hosted Nimes, got a draw in the ninth week of Ligue 1.
Entertaining Nimes at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium, Lille had a 1-0 lead until halftime but had to settle for one point after forcing a 2-2 draw, official page notes of the French League.
Loic Remy put Lille ahead in the 12th minute after goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni made two consecutive saves. Bernardoni managed to dispel Jonathan Ikone’s shot, the ball was struck by Remy and could still be countered by Bernardoni, but in the third shot, the ball lodged into the top left corner of the goal.
Nimes tried to retaliate but Romain Philippoteaux’s shot hit the post and Lille’s lead held on until the break.
At the start of the second half, Jose Fonte dropped Philippoteaux inside the area, bearing a yellow card and a penalty for Nimes which was executed well by Renaud Ripart to equalize 1-1.
Nimes turned to lead in the 71st minute when a pass from Ripart was met by Kevin Denkey’s little flicker to outwit goalkeeper Mike Maignan and change position to 2-1 for the visitors.
Luckily for Lille, eight minutes later Victor Omsihen successfully used the turmoil in front of the Nimes goal to make it 2-2.
Unfortunately, two final chances for Lille from Adama Soumaoro’s header and Omsihen’s header failed to change the final 2-2 score.
As a result, Lille must be willing to be stuck in fifth with a collection of 15 points after nearly 24 hours before being evicted by Bordeaux (15), while Nimes (9) moved up to 14th.
Rennes defeated by Reims
In another match that took place later, Rennes defeated guests Reims with a score of 0-1 at Roazhon Park Stadium.
The mere puppet goal that was scored by Boulaye Dia when he welcomed a cross from Remi Oudin on the right side of the penalty box secured Reims’ victory.
Rennes was not without opportunities, but Benjamin Bourigeaud’s header in the 55th minute hit the goal post, the rebound ball struck by Raphinha was also denied by the crossbar.
Because of that result, Reims jumped to sixth with a collection of 14 points, including jumping over Rennes (12) who fell to 10th.
