Lopetegui Will Fight for Madrid’s Dignity Without Ronaldo
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Real Madrid coach, Julen Lopetegui, has the ambition to preserve the domination in Europe though without Cristiano Ronaldo. Lopetegui assumes, Los Blancos still have the first class players.
Real Madrid step to compete in LaLiga and Europe was underestimated as Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus. No wonder, during the past 9 years, the former Manchester United player always be the key player of El Real to score the goals.
Lopetegui understands the challenge as he just joined Real Madrid for months. However, the former Spain national team coach optimists.
“We have an exciting task in front of us, that’s to remake and reinvent this club without Cristiano Ronaldo. We will look to make an even better team than last year’s Real Madrid,” Lopetegui said reported by Soccerway.
“We are convinced that Bale is going to have a great year and we expect a lot from him. We will work together for him to reach top form.”
Unfortunately, during the first match of International Champions Cup, Real Madrid defeated by Manchester United 2-1 in Hard Rock Stadium, Wednesday (1/8). Karim Benzema’s goal (45+3′) wasn’t enough to counter two goals of The Red Devils scored by Alexis Sanchez (18′) and Ander Herrera (27′).
“We all want to win all the time, but the key thing was not the result. In this preparation phase, we want to consolidate concepts. For them, it was their fifth game and for us just our first,” Lopetegui said.
Until now, Real Madrid just got Alvaro Odriozola and Vinicius Junior. Meanwhile, the other Los Blancos key player Luka Modric was rumored to join Inter Milan.
