By db-admin
DBasia.news – Olympique Lyon posted a 4-0 win against host Nimes at the Stade des Costieres.
Memphis Depay scored one goal in the first half when Nimes had to play with nine players. In the second half, Depay doubled the advantage to finally be equipped with two goals by Houssen Auorar and Joachim Andersen.
Lyon’s victory avenged the defeat they experienced when entertaining Lille in the midweek match yesterday, while making them rise to fifth position (10) with 25 points.
As for Nimes, this embarrassing defeat has made them be even worse at the bottom of the standings with 12 points from 16 matches that have been taken.
Nimes had to start the match with 10 players when Theo Valls committed a dangerous offense to Maxence Caqueret by lifting his leg too high which hit the Lyon player’s thigh.
Without further ado, the referee led by Olivier Thual rewarded him with a straight red card. Despite winning in players, Lyon were only able to score in the 15th minute.
Bertrand Traore’s acceleration which stabbed on the right side of Nimes defense after passing two players, was intercepted by Pablo Martinez in the penalty box. Depay who took the ball, was able to strike it through Panenka’s kick.
Disasters for Nimes returned five minutes before the end of the first half. Gaetan Paquiez received two yellow cards in a span of three minutes and made Nimes had to fight with nine players.
Lyon really utilized their excellent number of players. In the second half they were able to score three goals, each scored by Memphis Depay (63), flat kick by Houssem Aouar (70), and ended with a goal from Joachim Anderson eight minutes after the third goal.
