Man City Owner had Interest in purchasing Liverpool

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Before acquiring Manchester City, Sheikh Mansour had shown interest in Liverpool.

Liverpool had been linked with Sheikh Mansour after several times Amanda Staveley was caught on camera watching the Reds match at Anfield. Amanda is known as a liaison for the businessmen of Arab who desires to purchase a football club in England. The latest news states that Amanda was behind the scenes of the acquisition of Newcastle United by Mohammed Bin Salman.

Apparently, the news (Sheikh Mansour wanting to purchase Liverpool) is not a figment. The former Reds retainer, Graeme Souness, received information directly from Amanda.

“I vacationed in Dubai 12 or 13 years ago. I stayed at the Atlantis Hotel. In the afternoon, I walked around the hotel with my wife and children, then headed to the Nobu restaurant,” explained Souness as reported by Sky Sports.

“As they walked out, someone came and introduced themselves. She introduced herself as Amanda Staveley and was a Liverpool supporter.”

“In that conversation, she said as the person responsible for bringing the Abu Dhabi family to Manchester City. I also asked why she did not bring them to Liverpool?”

“She claimed to have made an offer to purchase Liverpool but George Gillett and Tom Hicks were very challenging to overcome. In the end, they just left,” said Souness.

After that, Sheik Mansour purchased Manchester City from a businessman from Southeast Asia, Thaksin Shinawatra. Since then, The Citizens have been transformed into a wealthy club and performance requirements.

Meanwhile, Liverpool changed owners two years after rejecting Sheik Mansour’s offer. George Gillett and Tom Hicks sold the Reds to John W. Henry.
