Manchester City Investigates Benjamin Mendy’s Health Protocol Violation Case

DBasia.news – Manchester City was surprised by the act of one of its players, Benjamin Mendy. He was caught hosting a New Year’s party that violated health protocol in the midst of the corona virus pandemic.

The 26 year old defender reportedly hosted a party at his house and invited some of his colleagues and call-girls who had come from London.

“The club is aware of the Covid-19 breach on New Year’s Eve involving Benjamin Mendy,” wrote a Manchester City statement as quoted by the US.

Benjamin Mendy has apologized for his actions, but the club will continue to carry out an internal investigation regarding the case.

“The player has publicly apologized for his mistakes, the club is disappointed to learn of the breach and will carry out an internal investigation.”

City admitted that they had given an appeal to comply with health protocols as several players from Pep Guardiola’s team had contracted the corona virus.

In fact, Manchester City had to postpone the match against Everton and temporarily close the training center at the Etihad Campus to prevent the spread of the virus within the club.

Pep Guardiola also commented on the breach of protocol by Benjamin Mendy. According to him Mendy was indeed wrong to do this, but Guardiola also defended his players from the criticism that came.

“He (Mendy) has good intentions in his heart, but he has to understand a few things. He invited two or three people on New Year’s Eve, they all tested negative, but they were at his house,” explained Guardiola.

“I want to know how many people have five or six people in the house on New Year’s Eve, I’m sure a lot.”

“Usually in society we judge others, it would be better if we judge ourselves. I’m pretty sure Benjamin will fix it and be more careful next time.”

“He’s breaking the rules, I don’t justify it, he can’t do so. But don’t teach others a lesson, don’t set an example from the players for society. We all have to do what we have to do.”

“Of course his actions are not right, but don’t judge him too much, if we look at what we have done on New Year’s Eve, many, many people might do the same thing. It’s easy to judge other people,” explained Guardiola.
