Manchester City lost one of their key players due to injury
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester City’s capacity to challenge for the title will be even harder because of Kevin De Bruyne’s injury. Without one of the key players, The Citizens’ strength will diminish.
De Bruyne suffered an ankle injury when Manchester City defeated Aston Villa 2-0 on Thursday (21/1). He only played 59 minutes in that match.
From the results of the examination, De Bruyne was obliged to rest for at least one month to recover his condition. That means Manchester City cannot play the Belgian midfielder in the next six games.
De Bruyne’s role is very important in the Manchester City game. He is the main creator of the attack patterns of Pep Guardiola’s team.
Throughout this season, De Bruyne has scored three goals and 15 assists in 23 matches in all competitions. Guardiola certainly has to rack his brain to find a solution to this problem.
“You have to know that I will miss Kevin a lot. He is almost irreplaceable with the quality he has,” said Guardiola on the club’s official website.
“But if you want to win important titles, you need irreplaceable things like the charisma that the team can have, commitment, the relationship between all the stars in the locker room. You can’t win titles without respect between the players.”
It is believed that Manchester City’s performance will not be disturbed despite the loss of De Bruyne. This is because conditions like this have been experienced by them two seasons ago.
In the 2018-2019 season, De Bruyne did have a long absence due to injury. But Manchester City was able to close the season with the Premier League trophy.
Manchester City also currently has a number of creative midfielders to fill the role left by De Bruyne. Some of them are Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden.
Guardiola’s cold hands will be tested in anticipation of De Bruyne’s absence. If they are able to pass it, Manchester City has a great chance to end the season with a title.
