Manchester United Goalkeeper Sergio Romero Is Moving to MLS United States
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester United goalkeeper, Sergio Romero (33 years), reportedly opened the door to leave MLS in the United States.
Romero failed to materialize a move to Everton on the transfer deadline of the Premier League summer transfer window on Monday (5/10).
No agreement has been reached until the exchange is closed. As a result, Everton then borrowed AS Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen. As reported by the Daily Mail, Romero is now considering moving to the United States League.
His wife, Eliana Guercio, even got angry with Man United via Instagram because the club didn’t allow Romero to move.
“Sergio Romero has worked hard for this club. The last trophy they won, they lifted it with him. He helped the team [reach] four finals / semi-finals, and then he was sidelined on the bench as useless,” read Eliana’s upload, Tuesday (6/10).
“Now is the time to turn back the opportunity and let him go. GIVE A LITTLE RESPECT!” he added.
Previously, Romero was predicted to be one of the players that Man United will release in the transfer market this summer. Moreover, the Argentine goalkeeper’s contract will expire in June 2021, aka the end of next season.
During his time with the Red Devils, Romero was only David de Gea’s reserve since the first name was recruited from Sampdoria in the 2015/16 season.
During that time, Romero managed to taste the FA Cup, English League Cup and Community Shield.
This season, Romero’s fate at Man United is increasingly uncertain. You see, manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has sent home the young goalkeeper, Dean Henderson (23 years), after performing brilliantly in two seasons on loan at Sheffield United.
