DBasia.news – Real Madrid got defeated by Sevilla with a 0-3 score. There was a player who became the victim from the match. Real Madrid defender, Marcelo, got injured.
In that match, Marcelo was placed as the right defender since the beginning. But, 18 minutes before the match ended, the Brasilian player must leave the pitch and left Madrid played with 10 players because the rotation has ended.
Marcelo got a muscle injury. The injury made Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui has to wait until further examination.
For Marcelo, the injury wasn’t as painful as seeing Madrid’s failure in achieving the point. ” I picked up a knock, but the defeats hurts more,” Marcelo explained.
AC Milan loaned striker, Andre Silva, was a nightmare for Madrid. The Portuguese striker scored the goal at 17′ and 21′. Meanwhile, Wissan Ben Yedder widened the distance to be 3-0 at 39′.
Madrid vs Sevilla
“You have to admit Sevilla were better in the first half. We got more of the ball in the second half but they were dangerous on the counter. They are a tough side and we lacked a few things against a rival as strong as Sevilla are,” Marcelo explained.
“In the second half, maybe if Luka’s goal had stood, the game would have been different. If you lose, your drop three points and that can make the difference later in the season.”
“We tried our best and let’s see if we can avoid such errors in the future. We need to change things now, defeat hurts, but we have to pick ourselves up or the next game,” he continued.
The failure made Real Madrid failed to surpass Barcelona in the top standing. In fact, El Barca got defeated by Leganes 2-1. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid will be the next opponent this weekend.
