Marco Parolo: Lazio Deserves to be Out of the European League
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Lazio failed to qualify from the Europa League group phase after losing 0-2 to Stade Rennais on Friday (13/12) early morning Western Indonesian Time. The defeat was the fourth time in six matches in the Group E preliminaries.
Gli Aquile certainly will not participate in the last 32 of the Europa League after the defeat of Rennes at the Stadio Olimpico earlier this morning. The defeat made Simone Inzaghi’s troops had to settle for finishing third in Group E with six points.
“If you look at our performance in the Europa League this season, we really don’t deserve to qualify for the last 32. Especially after we swallowed two defeats from Celtic,” Marco Parolo was quoted as saying on the official Lazio website.
Furthermore, Parolo also hopes his colleagues can gain valuable lessons from failure this season. According to him, Lazio players must be able to improve their performance when facing a stronger team in the future.
“I hope this failure can be a lesson for us all. I certainly hope we will be able to improve our performance when facing strong teams in the future,” Parolo said.
Lazio’s poor performance in the European arena is certainly the opposite of their appearance in Serie A. Currently, Ciro Immobile cs is perched in the top three standings with a collection of 33 points from 15 matches. Only five points adrift of Inter Milan who controlled the top position.
