By db-admin

DBasia.news – Without any new players in two transfer periods, Chelsea relied a lot on young players. It was not separated from the decision taken by Frank Lampard.

One figure who successfully locked one place in the starting XI is Mason Mount, the British player has even appeared in 31 matches with a collection of six goals and five assists.

Before successfully promoting to The Blues’ first team, Mount had spent several loan periods, most recently he was loaned to Derby County and played under the direction of Frank Lampard in the 2018/19 season. He was an important figure in the squad and helped The Rams advance to the Championship Division playoff finals, but then lost to Aston Villa.

Now after becoming a mainstay in Chelsea’s starting XI, Frank Lampard also talked about the Mason Mount’s performance, the 42-year-old coach admitted that he still relies heavily on Mount in the 2019/20 season and assesses if the player is one of the important players in the squad.

“I really rely on Mason Mount. Previously this happened in Derby County, and now at Chelsea. He gave a lot of things to the team, his work ethic was also very extraordinary as well as the way he can press in midfield. His quality will continue to improve, now he is at the highest level,” Lampard said as reported by Goal.

Frank Lampard is quite relying on many of his young players this season, not only Mount, names like Reece James, Tammy Abraham, and Billy Gilmour have also begun to secure a place in the starting XI.
