With the additional two goals, Icardi could be similar to Vieri’s record to Inter, 103 goals. However, Icardi gained it in 165 matches while Vieri in 143 matches.

“We struggled here last season and knew we had to give something more this term. It’s important that we got the result and fought hard to win the game,” Icardi told Sky Sport.

The two goals made Icardi left the goal-drought at the beginning of this season. Previously, the former Sampdoria player scored one goal against PSV Eindhoven.

“I scored 29 goals last season, it’s not as if I was having such a dry run! I am happy if goals come, but the important thing is that Inter get the victory and I work for the team,” Icardi said.

The additional three points brought Inter Milan in the 3rd position of the temporary standing with 16 points. After the international break, Luciano Spalletti squad will play against AC Milan (22/10).
