Nike’s Fantastic Payment for Cristiano Ronaldo
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has received a fantastic fee from Nike. This was revealed by Der Spiegel, the German media, who often exposed public secrets in European football.
Ronaldo, 34 years old, received a total fee of 162 million euros or around Rp2 trillion until his contract expires in 2026. Three years ago, Ronaldo signed a new contract with the top sports company based in Oregon.
The details, the Portuguese player will receive 16 million euros per year, plus a bonus of four million euros, if Ronaldo wins special awards such as Ballon d’Or, FIFA’s World Player of the Year.
In 2016 and 2017, when Ronaldo won the award, the ex-Manchester United star won 20.2 million euros. This news is surprising as Ronaldo became Nike’s global representative with the world’s most expensive contract holder.
Considering his status as a football superstar, winner of five Ballon d’Or and five Champions League titles, the big contract Nike gave out was reasonable. Nevertheless, Rp 2 trillion is a fantastic nominal.
Der Spiegel tried to confirm it with Nike and they answered “We are not discussing the contracts of our athletes to the public.” At least until 2026, Ronaldo will continue to wear the latest shoe brands from Nike.
