DBasia.news – Exequiel Palacios is a young talent on the rise in Argentina with his club, River Plate. Real Madrid set him as the priority.
Recently, Marca, a Spanish media based in Madrid, claimed that El Real agreed to purchase Palacios worth 20 million euro from River Plate.
However, River Plate President Rodolfo D’Onofrio denied it. He objected that there was a deal, but admitting that there was a negotiation between his club and Real Madrid.
“He has not been sold, but there is an interest from Real Madrid in Palacios,” D’Onofrio said quoted by Goal, Saturday (17/11).
“The Real Madrid sporting director spoke to (River Plate sporting director Enzo) Francescoli regarding their interest on the player, and we will speak further along. But he hasn’t been sold,” he continued.
Since promoted from River Academy and started his debut in 17 on November 2015, Palacios has been the main part of River squad in 41 caps so far and scored 7 goals.
Palacios also has two caps with Argentina senior national team. As a midfielder, Palacios might follow the successful path of other River Academy players like Manuel Lanzini, Erik Lamela, Roberto Pereyra, and Sebastian Driussi.
