DBasia.news – After scoring his 700th goal for Portugal in the match against Ukraine on Tuesday (10/15) early morning Western Indonesian Time, Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that the record he printed came naturally. He also stated that he was never obsessed with records.
Ronaldo failed to give victory to Portugal when they travel to Ukraine’s headquarters at the NSK Olimpijs Stadium, Kiev, Tuesday, October 15. Nevertheless, he still set a new record by scoring the 700th goal in his career.
Speaking after the match, Ronaldo admitted he was upset over the defeat that his country gained. However, he remains proud of his record.
“Not just anyone can reach this number. Thank you to my teammates, colleagues, and coaches who helped me become a player. I’m disappointed we didn’t win, but proud of the team,” Ronaldo said at Soccerway.
“How many records do I have? I do not know. I must enjoy this moment and thank those who helped me achieve this impressive thing. The last time I played on this land I won the Champions League, a beautiful moment in the past. Today we played well, but couldn’t win.”
“The record comes naturally. I did not go looking for them; a record that is looking for me. Without obsession, it happens naturally,” Ronaldo added.
