Not Retired, Totti and Cannavaro Responds to Buffon
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Two Italian football legends, Francesco Totti and Fabio Cannavaro held a discussion regarding one of the country’s senior goalkeepers. They discussed on Gianluigi Buffon who has not retired until now.
Buffon who is now 42 years old still has a career as a player. He is under contract with Juventus until June 2021.
Even though his colleagues, Totti and Cannavaro have retired. Buffon is now pursuing a career as a coach.
According to Totti, Buffon will not retire in the near future. He even predicted the goalkeeper could end his career when he is half a century old.
“Gigi (Buffon’s nickname) wants to play until he is 50 years old. He can play two or three more years, even if only as a second choice,” Totti told Cannavaro in a conversation on Instagram.
Buffon does not already have a role as the main goalkeeper of Juventus. But his appearance was still okay when given the opportunity to appear.
Cannavaro himself did not dispute Totti’s opinion. But he considered the time Buffon retired greatly depends on the decision of Juventus.
“He (Buffon) does not want to stop yet, but they (Juventus) will make him stop. That will be very different,” Cannavaro added.
Totti and Cannavaro know Buffon’s character. The three had worked hand in hand defending the Italian national team for a while, including when they won the 2006 World Cup.
