DBasia.news –  Manchester City was able to defeat Real Madrid in the Champions League first leg on Thursday (2/27) early morning hrs with a score of 2-1. The Citizens manager claimed the foster child struggle has not ended there.

In the first 16 of the Champions League first leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, Manchester City appeared in power. Had left first, they were able to reverse the situation through goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne.

After the match, Pep Guardiola said that his target came to the Santiago Bernabeu to win. “We came here to win the match and we did it. But this is only the first fight,” he told BT Sport.

“When we perform better, we concede one goal. when they are better, we can score goals. That is soccer. I remember the quarter-finals a few seasons ago at Anfield when we played very well but the opponents scored from all the kicks on target,” he added.

Meanwhile, this victory takes its toll on the stronghold of City. Mainstay defender who is recovering from injury, Aymeric Laporte, must be stretched out. This situation no doubt made the coach angry.

“After five months of injury, this is very detrimental. Then Fernandinho was included to replace him and he played well. I am very proud,” he added.

“Certainly this is only the first step. Our struggle is not over yet. But we will enjoy these results for a few moments,” he concluded.
